Intercontinental Distribution Center (IDC)

Wegner Immobilien developed Intercontinental Distribution Centre (IDC) in Worms in 2003. The original completed storage area has around 52,000 m2 of usable floor space and a high bay warehouse with 61,000 pallets. Ten years on, the logistics centre was extended by an additional 30,000 m2 of logistics space. An additional high bay warehouse now offers further storage capacity for 65,500 pallets.
The logistics property has a total size of almost 14 hectares and is leased solely by Robert Bosch GmbH from Stuttgart. It serves as the European central warehouse for the business units “power tools” and “lawn and garden”. The logistics service provider Fiege operates the large warehouse for Bosch.
BayernLB financed the original building and extension of the IDC for Wegner Immobilien with a sum of 76 million euro. All logistics facilities and equipment were also part of the overall investment.
In 2015, it was sold to Samsung SRA through the Hamburg Investmentgesellschaft Aquila Capital.
The IDC provides around 900 employees from 40 different countries with a job. There are currently around 65 trainees spread across six apprenticed professions.
